Ingredients
- 1 can of black beans (460g)
- 1 cup and 1/2 rolled oats
- 1 cup of unpitted dates
- 4 scoops Vanilla protein powder (60-80g)
- 1/3 cup of 100% cacao powder
- 1/3 cup of maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of vegan chocolate chips
- a pinch of salt
Steps
- Open the black beans can, drain and save the liquid (know as "aquafaba"). Rinse the black beans off, and reserve.
- Add the rolled oats on the blender. Make a few pulses on the blender, not really to make flour, but to pulse them into smaller bits.
- Add the black beans and the unpitted dates on the blender. Press the dates to make sure they are really unpitted. Mix everything together on the blender.
- Add the protein powder, the cacao powder, and maple syrup. Mix until the blender starts to get slow and stop. Add about a cup of the "aquafaba" initially reserved, and pulse a few times. Add more "aquafaba" and a pinch of salt, and mix it again until it becomes smoother.
- Pre-heat the oven at 180 °C. Add parchment paper on a medium size tray, and pour the mixture on top of it, and spread evenly. Add the chocolate chips on top and leave it in the oven for about 30 minutes.
- Let it cool for 30 minutes. Take it out of the tray and the paper. Cut it in small protein bars and enjoy!
