Sushi Rolls - Maki-zushi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 10 sheets nori (seaweed)
  • 1/2 pound imitation crab meat, shredded
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Soy sauce, for dipping
  • Pickled ginger and wasabi, for serving

Steps

  1. Prepare sushi rice according to package instructions.
  2. Lay a bamboo sushi rolling mat on a flat surface, place a sheet of nori on the mat.
  3. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.
  4. Arrange crab, cucumber, and avocado along the bottom edge of the nori.
  5. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, sealing the edge with a little water.
  6. Slice into bite-sized pieces and serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
